Seed Mosaic: Week Three
This is sort of a cop out post, because I have been traveling today. And, apparently Chris can’t post because he was stuck driving back and forth to the doctor in a blizzard. (Yes, Chris, I almost fell off my chair laughing when I got your email. I’m sorry-I must be lacking the sensitivity gene today, since my luggage didn’t make it.) Even though my bags aren’t here yet, I am home and was delighted to see my seeds! The babies are growing! Even the seeds I was obsessively watching before leaving. I guess a watched seed never sprouts. Here is the vegetable garden:
Clockwise from upper left corner: turnips (one week),spinach (three weeks), radish (three weeks), lettuce and herbs, more lettuce and herbs, nasturtium (!), swiss chard (three weeks), lettuce, lettuce, radish, sweet peas (three weeks) (!). So, the elusive sweet peas and nasturtium are sprouting. Coriander, dill and swiss chard are also peeking out of the soil.
In the center, you can sort of see my whole garden layout. I am growing veggies and flowers all together and a complete disarray. I need to get a couple of rain barrels to put under those gutters you see!
Chris, they say you can plant peas in the snow. Now might be a good time. . .

I got my luggage! And, Chris really is snowed in. Poor guy. He sent a lovely picture of himself shoveling snow.
